COVID-19 Update and Information

What is Badger Gymnastics doing to keep you safe?

New Mask Policy as of Monday, July 13, 2020 - Dane County has issued emergency order #8 which mandates that every individual, age five (5) and older, in Dane County must wear a face covering that covers their nose and mouth when:

1. In any enclosed building where other people, except for members of the person’s own household or living unit, could be present.

2. In line to enter any indoor space”. This means that we will be requiring all attendees to bring their own face covering that covers both their nose and mouth starting Monday July 13th, 2020.

Please notify Badger Gymnastics if your attendee is exempt from wearing a face covering due to one of the following criteria-- “The following individuals are exempt from the requirement to wear a face covering: individuals with a medical condition, mental health condition, or disability that prevents them from wearing a face covering”.

If you do not yet have any cloth/reusable masks, you can find some great ones on Etsy, at stores like Target or Walmart, or if you're crafty, you can make your own! This may be a big adjustment for some children, so we recommend watching this video with your child(ren) on how wearing masks helps stop the spread of germs.

When will your gymnast be required to wear a face covering at Badger Gymnastics?

  • We ask all of our attendees to wear masks while waiting in line, while waiting for a turn on the apparatus or while working simple, non-risky and non-endurance type exercises.
  • We will modify the skills we practice to give the gymnasts time to get used to doing gymnastics with masks on.
  • We will refrain from cardio workouts and focus on muscle building conditioning.
  • We will give the kids a specific space to safely take a mask break if they need to.

Exceptions to wearing a face covering indoors:

  • Giving an attendee a mask break in a safe area

  • If the gymnastics demands high intensity that is not conducive to wearing a mask

  • If the attendee has a health condition that prevents them from wearing a mask

We are following CDC Guidelines for when it is appropriate to wear face coverings. Face coverings are not appropriate if the covering may get wet (like in a pool) or during high intensity activities (like running and high intensity gymnastics). We will practice social distancing with our attendees at all times while they are in the gyms.

In March of 2020, Gymnastics Clubs around Wisconsin collectively established minimum standards for returning to operation while maintaining the safety of our children and coaches.  Click here to learn more about these standards.

Travel/Vacation Policy: If your family or any family members are planning to travel out of the greater Madison area, please let us know via email beforehand. Once we are made aware of your plans - especially if traveling out of the state or country - we will contact you to discuss the best plan of return based on the risk the travel poses to the gym. This also applies if a family member travels to a known hot spot. Before returning to the gym, you and your family must be symptom free. Once we know about your plans, we will discuss your individualized plan of return based on the risk the travel poses to the gym. The Owners of Badger Gymnastics reserve the right to ask anyone to stay away from the gym before returning to activities at Badger Gymnastics or refuse services to those who do not comply with this policy.

If you decide to travel, or a family member regularly travels for work, we'd like to know that they are abiding by precautions necessary to keep us all safe. Proper hand washing and wearing a mask will drastically reduce the spread of COVID-19.
